Wrexham footballer James McClean has been left with ‘cuts and bruises’ after crashing his Audi this morning.
The Irishman went off of the road near Wrexham Golf club with eyewitnesses reporting significant damage to his car.

His club have released a statement on their website which read:
‘Wrexham AFC can confirm that a first-team player has been involved in a car accident this morning on his way to training.
It was a single car accident with no other vehicles involved and the relevant local authorities were quickly present at the scene.
The player reported to the Club this morning and will undergo further medical checks.’
North Wales Police have also confirmed that the 35-year-old had not sustained any serious injuries and he is due to have some more tests with Wrexham’s medical staff at the club.

Last week, McClean had been in the headlines after he called English town Shrewsbury a ‘cesspit full of inbreds’.
